And So My Journey Begins...

Today was my first experience logging hours in our school media center. I spent some time collaborating with Mrs. B about the things that I want to accomplish this semester. She seemed excited about the ideas and help that I am offering, because this is her first year as a School Media Specialist. After we talked, I was ready to jump in and help out. The media clerk, Mrs. T., was overjoyed and had plenty of things ready for me. I spent some time shelving books in the easy section of the media center. I also has a hand at shelving some books in the nonfiction section as well. As I was shelving books, I realized that the markers in the easy section are difficult to see. If this is a problem for me I know that this is not the best marking system for young students. First order of business...brainstorm a more effective labeling system. I am overly excited about getting my hands dirty so to say.
